Travel Notes: Hsinchu Gongdao 5 Jingyan Banquet Hall, Guangfu Road Dazai Lala Hot Pot. Came to Hsinchu at noon for a Taichung First High School alumni gathering; most of the seniors are in the tech industry. Caught up with junior classmates I hadn't seen in a while—Bowen and Youjun from MediaTek—and we chatted over red wine sponsored by a senior. Cheers! Afterward, I spontaneously met up with an old friend who's lived in Hsinchu for over 20 years. He first took me to see his tenant to check on some things needed for the house. Taiwan is so small—his tenant is also a junior from National Cheng Kung University class of 102, now working at TSMC. For dinner, he brought me to a unique clam hot pot cooked over charcoal, with a sweet and fresh broth. After the meal, we went to Bamboo Town in Zhubei for my second foot massage of the week.
