Location: Hsinchu Yonghe Soy Milk King
Travel note summary: It was almost 8 PM on Friday two weeks ago when I got a call from Champ, my senior. He had just finished work and, thinking it had been a while since we last met, asked me out for a meal. Since I hadn't eaten much that evening, we decided to meet at the Tsinghua University Night Market. While many places in the night market don’t leave a lasting impression, spots like Tenya Donburi, Rokaku Workshop Ramen, and this Yonghe Soy Milk King are among my personal favorites—I’ve been to each multiple times. However, this Yonghe branch tends to open late or sometimes not at all, making timing tricky. My senior, fresh off work at Sunplus Media, looked exhausted, mentioning he’d left early today due to a product deadline. As we chatted, we enjoyed their xiaolongbao, pan-fried dumplings, and egg pancakes. The dumplings are always plump and flavorful—a must-order for me—and the xiaolongbao pairs perfectly with a bowl of hot soy milk. A satisfying meal that doesn’t break the bank. Address: Near the Wenjiao Xincheng side of Tsinghua University Night Market. By Morgan, July 11, 2007.
