Travel notes summary: Island Cafe in Hsinchu. A newly met online friend, DreamingMN, invited me to Island Cafe. I've been here a few times before, but either there were no seats or it was too late for food service. The entire shop is decorated in blue and white to create a Greek ambiance, including the images at the top of the menu. Like typical set-meal cafes, the menu offers pasta, gratin, etc., with prices starting around $240, including bread, soup, a small dessert, and a drink. From what I recall, I ordered a spicy shrimp penne pasta ($260). Since I hadn't been here before, I'm not sure if the chef changed, but compared to the high ratings I saw online, tonight's meal was quite disappointing.
