Travel notes: Today I attended the founding ceremony of the Taichung First Senior High School Alumni Association in Hsinchu, thanks to an invitation from senior Apollo Daolin. Most alumni here work in the tech industry at Hsinchu Science Park—TSMC, UMC, MediaTek, MStar, Innolux, ITRI... The initiator is senior Liu Yingda (27th class), former vice chairman of UMC. The current principal of Taichung First Senior High School, senior Lin Longyan (53rd class), was also present. There are probably over 20,000 alumni in the Hsinchu area, and this chapter marks a new beginning. Taiwan is so small—I ran into senior Zheng Renjie from ITRI, met Taka, and sat next to senior Su Junmin (55th class), who also studied aerospace at NCKU. Another 55th-class senior, Lin Jianxing, works in the same Silicon IP industry as Zongmiao, and his company is right next door... Every encounter is fate.
