Location: Hsinchu, Bellini Italian Restaurant
Travel Notes: Last Wednesday evening, Morgan's insurance consultant Miki in Hsinchu invited me to dinner to review my insurance policy. We met at this restaurant on Jiangang 1st Road. The storefront isn't very noticeable, but I'd heard good things about it. After work, I opened the door to find Miki already seated, working on her laptop—they have Wi-Fi here, which is convenient. She had ordered a pasta set meal and recommended I try their pizza. I glanced at the menu and ordered a small Supreme Pizza (NT$250), about 9 inches. We chatted while munching on her garlic bread, which was pretty good. Soon, my pizza arrived on a white plate: crispy thin crust with generous toppings—definitely delicious. The restaurant offers many other Italian dishes, making it a place I'd revisit. I wanted to treat Miki, but she sneakily paid the bill while I was on a phone call. I promised to return the favor, and she joked that I should treat her to Awfully Chocolate cake in Taipei. Next time I'm in Taipei, I'll have to check out this highly praised spot on Bade Road (laughs). Address: 1F, No. 97, Jiangang 1st Road, (03)5748000. By Morgan, March 19, 2007.
