Location: Hsinchu - Vietnam Village Restaurant & Zheng Lao Lin Mutton Hot Pot
Travel notes: Two meals in one day in Hsinchu. Yesterday for lunch, I went back to Jinshan Street to find food. Since Junhong lives around here anyway, I killed two birds with one stone by meeting a friend and eating :P. Tried this Vietnam Village place that also looks like it hasn't been open long. Ordered Vietnamese beef noodles ($80) plus a plate of fried spring rolls ($50). The left side of the menu is Vietnamese dishes, the right side is Taiwanese dishes, with quite a variety. The overall prices in the shop are pretty affordable. You can observe that actually many small Vietnamese shops are opened by Vietnamese brides after marrying into Taiwan, and this place is no exception. So the food should at least have a taste of their hometown. The fried spring rolls were okay, the noodle portions were quite large, and the beef slices with onions were still good. The food in the shop is generally not expensive, especially for being on Jinshan Street, a high-cost area. So personally, I think it has some distinctive features and competitiveness in the Jinshan Street area. Samson, I know you read my articles…
