Travel notes summary: Written on 2004/10/1 ------------------------------------------------------- On the day of the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, since we couldn’t go far, almost everyone from the camp ended up in Hsinchu. Some comrades went to the movies, some played arcade games, and others found their own activities. As for me, Morgan, I always want to try things I haven’t done before. So, I tagged along with one buddy who’s into cars, plus two other friends from our squad and their three girlfriends, to this small go-kart track. The address was quite hard to find—from Gongdao 5th Road in Hsinchu, we turned onto Shuili Road and twisted through some small alleys before arriving. The track isn’t very big, with only about 6 or 7 turns. At normal speed, it takes nearly a minute to complete a lap. The structure of these go-karts is indeed simple, of course not comparable to real race cars, but the motor is pretty powerful. When you floor the accelerator, you can feel the speed continuously building. Unlike typical amusement park rides, if you’re not careful, you might crash into the tires or grass on the side.
