Travel note: (Note: Later visited over six or seven times.) Had dinner with Manager Liang tonight. Feels like we just moved from Taiwan to Shenzhen, but we're still the same. :P We took the high-speed elevator up to the famous Italian restaurant, Elba, above our office. Over a year ago, I had the 400+ RMB buffet on the 96th floor. Tonight, we changed it up and tried the Italian restaurant a few floors higher, enjoying the night view of Luohu District from the 99th floor—a different vibe. The evening set menu was 700+10% RMB, including beef carpaccio with black truffle, Australian lobster soup with wild salmon roe, pan-fried red snapper with zucchini and saffron sauce, and tiramisu for dessert. We also opened a bottle of Italian red wine (Merlot). The set didn't seem very cost-effective; next time, I'll just order a steak. @@ Manager Liang is a regular here, so from the head waiter to the servers, almost everyone knows him.
