Location: Shenzhen, OCT East Tourist Resort
Travel note summary: After returning to Shenzhen from a long trip, this week was spent on work, high-end steak, seafood, red wine, and karaoke. Instead of resting at home this Saturday, I went for an outing to the suburbs with junior Charles and Judy, a new colleague who just arrived this week. It took about an hour from downtown to get here, very close to the sea. The Tea Stream Valley area has architecture imitating a Swiss town, Interlaken, along with a forest train and tea garden trails. There's also a 'Tian Chan' performance at 3 PM (70 RMB), which blends Zen themes with various acrobatics—really a great value show worth seeing. The entire scenic area is huge, built with an investment of 3.5 billion RMB, making it a major attraction in Shenzhen. The other side has the Grand Canyon area with many amusement facilities, but we didn't have time to go there. Now taking the shuttle bus down the mountain. Left home at 8 AM, probably won't be back until after 7 PM. Another fulfilling day~ :p
