Travel note: Yunnan Random Notes
Yunnan is the province with the most ethnic minorities in China, with a full 25 ethnic minorities living here, close to half of all ethnic minorities in China. Originally, I had plans to have dinner with a Hani girl tonight, but she happened to go to Kunming for training and flew back to Banna late at night, while I flew from Banna to Kunming late at night to transfer back to Shenzhen—we perfectly missed each other in the air. So, I ended up coming alone to eat Yunnan's famous wild mushroom hotpot. There's a timer next to the hotpot; it needs to be cooked for over 20 minutes before eating, so I'm just writing some random things while waiting. Besides seeing various strange mountains and unique waters on this Yunnan trip, the biggest gain was probably experiencing the lives of many ethnic groups. From the Bai people in Dali, the Naxi people at Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in Lijiang, the Mosuo people at Lugu Lake, the Tibetan and Yi people in Shangri-La, the Jingpo people in Tengchong, the Dai people on the China-Myanmar border, to the Dai, Hani, and Jino people in Xishuangbanna... plus the Austrian girl I struck up a conversation wit…
