Taiwan is so small. N+8 days ago, I wrote a casual little note about a department gathering, mentioning that we had a new colleague, so there was a welcome dinner. I was just habitually jotting it down, but who would have thought... this new female colleague Carol actually... is... is... is... the girlfriend of my old friend Marbury from the CCNS club at Cheng Kung University!!! Carol was browsing through Marbury’s account on Facebook, saw my status update, and suddenly realized I’m Marbury’s friend. Actually, when Carol first joined the company and mentioned her previous workplace XXX, it briefly crossed my mind that years ago, during a meal with Marbury, he’d mentioned his girlfriend worked at XXX. But I never would’ve imagined that fleeting thought would turn out to be true. Taiwan really is that small = =a So small I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.
