Travel note summary: It was a very last-minute trip to Hong Kong, so I messaged friends from the airport yesterday. Thanks to everyone for making time on short notice to hang out with me. Last night, Kyle from Baichuan Trust arranged for his partner KK and Ah Jie to show me Hong Kong's nightlife. We drank on Cameron Road, then later had some nourishing soup, and didn't part ways until dawn. I met an interesting guy named Brother Feng, who dabbles in investments in everything from eight restaurants to a South African gold mine and Jacky Cheung's concerts in Taiwan. Thanks to all my Hong Kong friends for the hospitality! Then at noon today, Brother Leon introduced me to his Hong Kong partner, Brother Alan. Alan used to work in investment banking and now runs his own real estate fund with licenses 4 and 9. Another company he owns does EV charging stations. We had a great casual chat—thanks, Brother Alan, for hosting. In the evening, I went to Olympic to catch up with my former colleague, William. William is still the CIO at a public fund in Hong Kong.
