Location: Hong Kong, Yuen Lung, Ping Shan Heritage Trail & Tuen Mun, Gold Coast
Travel notes: During the Qing dynasty, the Ping Shan area was developed by a Deng family patriarch who came from Jiangxi, and the family flourished. So the cluster of ancient buildings left by the Deng family is now integrated with some newer structures. At the highest point on the hilltop, there's the Ping Shan Tang Clan Gallery, converted from the former Ping Shan Police Station. It houses many artifacts collected by the Deng family, including items from a scholar the family once produced. Leaving Yuen Long and taking the West Rail Line to its final stop, Tuen Mun, which is relatively west in the New Territories. Transferring to the K51 bus here takes you to Gold Coast, one of Tuen Mun's famous attractions. There's also a BBQ area nearby for grilling. After walking around like this in the afternoon, I've had enough exercise for today! :p
