Travel note: Tonight I had dinner with William, an old colleague from my Yuan Da days who's been working in Hong Kong's finance industry for six years. We couldn't meet last week in Hong Kong, nor early this week in Taiwan, but luckily we finally made it today. We talked for a long time, and he shared many of this year's life and family troubles. Some parts resonated with my past experiences, so I nodded in agreement; for the rest, only time can slowly heal. Near the end, I took out a hanging ornament I bought in Istanbul from my backpack and gave it to William, hoping that at this year-end and New Year transition, my old friend can turn his fortunes around and move forward smoothly!
