Travel Notes: Heilongjiang, Wudalianchi Volcanic Cluster (14 volcanoes + 5 major barrier lakes, including 2 dormant active volcanoes). Escaping the cold in the south in winter, fleeing the heat in the north in summer—with this idea, I brought my laptop to handle daily work and remote meetings. On a whim, I bought a plane ticket and came to Heilongjiang, also temporarily distancing myself from the recent street conflicts in Hong Kong. Around 20 degrees in the northeast is only bearable for me, who fears the cold, in summer. Changing into long sleeves here, the climate is indeed completely different from the south. But this temperature is truly very comfortable now. Wudalianchi has 14 volcanoes, from ancient extinct ones millions of years old to the youngest active volcano that erupted just over 300 years ago during the Kangxi era. The lava landscapes formed by volcanic eruptions include vast stretches of black熔岩的石海、石河, as well as rare large-scale喷气锥、喷气碟 on Earth.
