After leaving the Railway Museum, I headed to Tai Wo Station and took the 64K bus into the New Territories countryside. Lam Tsuen is famous for its century-old Wishing Tree, which gets packed during the Lunar New Year Wishing Festival, but on a weekday it was quiet and relaxed. I tossed a 'po die' (like a small orange) with my written wish onto the tree—if it doesn’t fall, your wish is said to come true. Nearby, I tried Sister Zhen’s tofu pudding based on a blog recommendation—it was incredibly smooth and delicious! On this afternoon with a No. 1 typhoon signal hoisted, eating tofu pudding while watching the rain was its own little pleasure.
