Location: Taichung, Chun Shui Tang at Park Lane by CMP
Travel note: In the afternoon, spontaneously met up with my university classmate Afu and junior Wenqi, finding a casual spot to sit by Green Park Way. Chatted with Afu about his work in Chunghwa Telecom's new big data department, handling 6PB (=6,000TB =6 million GB) of data入库, processing over 2,000 databases and 20,000 tables. Also talked with my junior, who's about to graduate from National Chung Hsing University's CS PhD program, about her project at a foreign company applying AI to predict failure times in storage devices. We reminisced about old times and chatted about many things—the afternoon just flew by. Thanks to Afu for treating us! :P
