Travel note summary: Two gatherings in one day. General Liang came down from Taipei to handle some matters and invited Ruiyi and me for lunch. We went to Ali Seafood, which is famous in Pingtung and was later acquired. We had a table full of delicious dishes paired with a French red wine: garlic beef short ribs, Hokkaido scallops, sashimi, steamed fish, and three-cup squid... The per-person cost was over 2500 NTD—a fantastic lunch. Afterward, Ruiyi left first, and General Liang and I headed to the steakhouse and bar on the top floor of Splendor Hotel. We spontaneously invited Kevin and his girlfriend Xiaowan, as well as Qibin, to join us. Even on a weekday afternoon, everyone kindly rushed over. As a result, the number of red wines we drank today skyrocketed from one French, two Portuguese, one Argentine, and one Chilean to a total of five bottles.
