Location: Taipei, Zhongshan District, The Riviera Hotel - Mediterranean Steak House
Travel Notes: The Mediterranean Steak House at The Riviera Hotel in Zhongshan District is another famous high-end steakhouse in Taipei. I’d tried the now-closed Empire Steak House at the nearby Hua Kuo Hotel before, and tonight I came here for the first time. I ordered the most expensive set: a 45-day wet-aged U.S. Kurobuta ribeye steak. ($6,000+10% for two) It was paired with an Israeli red wine rated 4.2/5 on Vivino. The beautifully seared pink beef was visually satisfying alone, and with fleur de sel and rose salt, it really didn’t fall short compared to places like Ambassador Hotel’s A Cut, Regent’s Robin’s, or famous spots like Danny & Company, Ruth’s Chris, or Lawry’s. A truly likable and impressive restaurant! By Morgan @2021.4.22 evening
