Today I gave my time to two shops. The first was Xunxia Tang Wine Shop in Wenshan District, Taipei. It kept popping up in my Facebook feed as a friend's recommendation, so I decided to make a special trip to Wenshan. I had two glasses of South Italian wine and one glass of New Zealand wine there, and also chatted with the owner, Teacher Yu. They've been running the place for over a decade, growing all the way to what it is now. The space is 200 ping, with a wine cellar in the basement, and they serve food. With thousands of wines in the store, it was quite impressive. Afterwards, I went down to Yulon City for a meal, then moved on to the second shop, Chapter One. The owner, Brother Ben, used to do Art Deco (decorative art) for luxury homes. After years of being around wine, he got interested and opened this shop in Xindian over seven years ago. He also loves researching AI, so he used AI to make the official website, and has started building a methodology to compile a wine index. At the shop, we talked happily while drinking Australian and Central Italian wines. I had only meant to have a glass by the glass, but the boss opened two bottles and we just kept drinking. The shop closes…
