Location: Taipei, Wuchang Street, Astoria Cafe
Travel Notes: Astoria Cafe on Wuchang Street in Taipei (a Russian restaurant) has been around since 1949—a nostalgic historic spot with over 70 years of history. They even serve a commemorative red wine from Moldova, a country I’d honestly never heard of before. I looked it up and found out it’s just south of Ukraine, near Odessa by the Black Sea, which I’ve visited before, and right next to Romania, which I’ve also been to. Turns out it’s quite an ancient wine-producing region. Paired with beef short ribs and roasted pork knuckle, this Moldovan red really packs a punch. A tipsy weekend night—suddenly I’m feeling nostalgic for those days wandering around Eastern Europe. Life’s about going with the flow! Cheers~ By Morgan @2021.4.24 evening
