Travel Notes: Thanks to Brother Weide, founder of Evergreen Pharmacy chain, for the invitation. Tonight, I attended a dinner gathering hosted by Chairman Shi of Huali Steel. It was 5 men and 9 women—my first time at such a large gathering with such a gender imbalance. Many of the attendees were female CEOs or high-level white-collar professionals. There were the owners of Xinpuyuan chain restaurant, the deputy general manager of Zeng Noodles, the general manager of Wego Motel, Sister Billie from Hong Kong, the Taiwan representative of Hong Kong Carbon Rights Exchange, the founder of the Lori brand, the deputy general manager of Apple Daily, and executives from MRP manufacturing systems... As the drinks flowed, I reminisced with Jeffery about our shared memories of Dongguan's Houjie, Changping, and Zhangmutou, and chatted with Paul from Hong Kong about the changes in Hong Kong over the past few years.
