Location: Yunnan–Burma Road, Ruili–China–Myanmar Border, Yunnan
Travel Note Summary: The Yunnan–Burma Road was built during World War II for anti-Japanese efforts. Heading west from Mangshi, after passing several checkpoints requiring document inspections, you reach the border between China and Myanmar. Unlike the heavily guarded North Korean border, here Myanmar might be just across a small river, with no fences or walls in sight. The exchange between people on both sides is much more relaxed than in North Korea. :p
