Travel Notes: From Dalian Port, there are nightly ferries to Shandong. Last night, I bought a fourth-class bunk ticket (210 RMB) and spent a night on the Bohai Sea, arriving in Shandong. Standing unsteadily on the deck, gazing up at the endless dark night sky over the sea, it had been years since my last overnight sea journey. Time flies, life is but a blink. Arriving in Yantai at dawn, the morning light was intoxicating. Penglai Pavilion is one of China's Four Great Towers, built since the Northern Song Dynasty, nearly a thousand years old. After visiting Yellow Crane Tower in Hubei and Tengwang Pavilion in Jiangxi, this is the third famous tower I've visited. In the afternoon, at Changyu's Castel Winery, I enjoyed red and white wine I hadn't had in a while. In the evening, I finished the small bottle of gold medal brandy gifted by the winery. With a slight buzz, I strolled along Yantai's seaside square, impulsively stepping into the nearby Yantai Art Museum.
